This week the Art and D&T trip was inspirational! Year 7 pupils went on an exciting outing to the Design Museum and the National Gallery in London. The group enjoyed an interactive workshop at the Design Museum, exploring the properties of sustainable and smart materials. They also looked around the exhibition and learned about the history of iconic designs and inventions. After lunch the children travelled to the National Gallery and had a guided tour. There was an opportunity to look at portraits by artists including Holbein, Cezanne, Rembrandt and Degas. Pupils will be painting portraits back at school so this will have been a great source of inspiration!
