Year 3 – Operation Pied Piper

Year 3 became part of ‘Operation Pied Piper’ when they stepped back in time and became WWII evacuees. We boarded the steam train destined for we knew not where and wrote postcards home. In the afternoon we learned about rationing and how to “Make do and Mend” and  then packed a suitcase for an evacuee. It certainly gave the children a chance to appreciate the less austere times of 2019.
