We were delighted to welcome 30 SEN teachers and specialists to our SENCO and Wellbeing Conference hosted by Cheam and organised by Deputy Head Pastoral, Kate Hudson. The programme included talks from some amazing guest speakers. AnnieMarie Smellie talked about how to create better foundations to enable better learning ability and emotional stability. Amber Macintosh delivered an inspirational talk about ADHD, the journey after diagnosis, and the benefits that nutrition can have. Jenifer Hillman discussed the Zones of Regulation, a very effective framework that is used in the Pre-Prep for voicing emotions and developing strategies to cope with them. The day opened with a Vinyasa Flow Yoga session from Ari Dunn and included a visit to the Nest and a walk in the beautiful grounds after lunch.
The conference served as a fantastic platform for multiple schools to share and discuss valuable insights and strategies. Through providing these opportunities for development, we can ensure appropriate support and resources are always in place to help our pupils thrive academically and socially.
