The highlight of the week for the Pre-Prep community was of course the big Diwali Fireworks Party on Wednesday evening. Children and parents were greeted in the courtyard by the flickering lights of our divas before heading round to the West Porch for samosas, naan bread and chai latte. Then it was on to the stalls! Splat the Monkey, pinning the bindi onto Sita, henna decorations on hands and many more – all were Diwali themed and the children loved going round them all and earning stickers on their record cards. As the night sky darkened, the bonfire was lit and the effigy of Ravanna, made by Mrs Scarrett and Miss Fisher in ASC, was burned with flames reaching for the sky. And finally, we ended the festivities with a spectacular firework display! Huge thanks to everyone who came to this special Pre-Prep event and to the Cheam team who made it happen, it was a memorable bonfire night and a beautiful Diwali celebration!
