Neon Night for Year 7 Boarders | Cheam School

Wednesday evening saw the whole of Year 7, bedecked in a fantastic array of neon outfits, come together for their Wild Wednesday boarding night. After a fantastic supper of stacked burgers and fries, with cookies and flavoured milk to follow, an energetic countdown culminated in the doors to the large Dining Hall being flung open to reveal a neon karaoke club scene. The Gappers got the ball rolling with their energetic rendition of Carly Rae Jepsen’s Call Me Baby, much appreciated by the crowd. There then followed ninety minutes of non-stop classics, with everybody eager to get their hands on the microphone and entertain the appreciative audience. Neon face painting and temporary tattoos were a hit, as was the very popular pic’n’mix Tuck Bar. With MC Millar on the decks, the entertainment came to a close with everyone singing George Ezra’s Shotgun before energetic and heartfelt thanks were extended to the Year 7 and boarding staff. At 8pm the lights went on and we all headed upstairs, after a hugely enjoyable evening. Within half an hour the children were all showered and in bed, resting and reading. By lights out time at 9pm the boarding floors had fallen silent, our Year 7 dorms full of tired but happy children. We look forward to welcoming all of the Year 5 and Year 4 children to their Wild Wednesdays next term.
