Last Saturday, we gathered to celebrate our Harvest Festival.  This is such an important occasion as we remember the beauty of God’s creation.  The Chapel looked amazing with some wonderful altar decorations kindly organised by Mr and Mrs Gabbitas. Our thanks to them and to Mr and Mrs Conway for gifting us some hay to make such a fitting backdrop. We are very grateful to all the children and parents who kindly donated produce and food gifts.  Thank you for your generosity, which will bring help nurture and bring happiness to those in crisis and need.  All the various gifts were taken to our local food banks by Mrs Penberthy and some of the Year 7 children.

We welcomed Reverend Simon Tomkins, who talked about of the ‘joy of giving’ as part of an inspiring message about generosity.  He encouraged us to share our time, our resources and skills. Being generous not only makes a difference to those who receive, but also to the giver…. It was fabulous to hear the Chapel Choir in action, joined on this special occasion by the amazing Cheam Community Choir.  They sang the Harvest Anthem – Look at the World – adding musical magic to our celebrations.  It was a real treat to also hear Aaron and Seb, our two new Year 8 basses, generously sharing their voices with some heartfelt solo singing.  It was indeed a very special Harvest Festival – thank you all!
