Four Year 7 pupils and Mrs Penberthy spent a couple of hours on Tuesday delivering the harvest goods to the Fair Close Centre in Newbury. Well over 60 full bags of donations were carefully packed onto the minibus and received with huge thanks at Fair Close. All of the tins, jars, packets and boxes will be divided into approximately 250 bags, enough to gift each of the Centre’s users. The children were able to chat with the Centre users, and were surprised to see how much pleasure a simple packet of biscuits can bring, or how a jar of chutney can be viewed a luxury. Huge thanks to everybody in the Cheam community for their generous support to this year’s Harvest.
