In order to investigate the relationship between stopping distances and friction, Year 5 conducted an experiment using a toy car and a ramp. They explored how different surface textures affect resistance against motion and the distance it takes for the car to come to a complete stop after descending down the ramp. The children did a great job at measuring and recording the stopping distances for accuracy.
