Cheam celebrated Dyslexia Awareness Week this week. On Monday in Chapel, a few members of the community kindly shared very personal accounts of their journeys and how dyslexia impacts their lives. Huge thanks to Mimi, Hugo, Miss Jennings and Mr Bennett for sharing with us. You are an inspiration and its is so important that everyone is encouraged to share these experiences and be aware of all the help and support available.

Following our Dyslexia Awareness assembly we had a ‘Time In’ session to talk together and learn more about our brains and how they differ from each other. It was a great chance to speak out and listen to each other and find out more about how we can help each other. Next week in ‘Time In’ we will be looking at resources we can use in class to help ourselves as well as the opportunity to shout out about what is on our minds. Also Mrs Humphreys made an amazing display in the library full of books celebrating neurodiversity. Children can choose a book and learn more about neurodivergence through a story!
