Boarders who have been regularly involved in Cookery Club this term enjoyed a cookery lesson with a difference on Tuesday. Instead of meeting after supper to work through a recipe in school, seventeen Year 6 and 7 boarders went to the Gourmet Pasta Company in Newbury where they learnt how to make pasta by hand! Within an hour they had all made a perfect pasta dough and mastered the art of creating gnocchetti and casarecce from this, using their hands, a gnocchi board, and masses of patience. The pasta made and packed in take-away boxes ready to go home for supper on Wednesday, the children sat down to a delicious two-course supper, prepared by the chef. This was an educational, entertaining and epicurean evening, enjoyed by all of the cookery club children!
