Cheam Arts Week 2023

There were 2 Art workshops this week: Year 6 and 7HM designed a ‘Be Kind’ fused glass window and pendants with Jill Fordham; Year 5 worked with Sue Crews to make colourful wire baskets. Other children have been busy using Sky Arts resources to create ‘All About me’ circular illustrations inspired by Johanna Basford. Some children also made fun portraits using unconventional materials including coffee, pasta and lipstick inspired by Nathan Wyburn. This is the first time that Cheam has participated in the Sky Arts ‘Access All Arts’ programme and over a thousand schools across the UK have got involved. Huge congratulations to Isla and Tom who featured on Sky Arts ‘Portrait Artist of the Year’ television shows this week. The children have been inspired by so many things and created some outstanding work.
