In preparation for the Cheam Foundation Art Exhibition on 1st May, Years 3 to 8 enjoyed workshops with three established names from the art world. On Monday we were joined by Cheam old boy Oliver Akers Douglas, who ran an oils and landscapes workshop. This was followed on Tuesday by printmaker Guy Allen, joining us from Norfolk to work with Years 5 and 6 producing individual print plates and etchings based on the children’s own photos. The week then finished on a huge high with Miranda Donovan running collage and mixed media workshops with Years 3 and 4. We can’t wait to see the children’s finished creations at the Cheam Foundation Art Exhibition on 1st May, when every child in the school will exhibit a piece, framed and hung professionally in the Sports Hall. The exhibition will be open to view with a Drinks Reception for parents at 7pm on Thursday 1st May.
