It has been another memorable Book Week, filled with excitement, creativity, and a shared love of reading. One of the highlights was the much-loved ‘book nooks,’ where children enjoyed cosy corners to immerse themselves in their favourite stories; it was great to see young readers galloping down the corridors in search of a terrific tale!
World Book Day itself was a spectacle of imagination, with incredible costumes bringing beloved characters to life. The energy continued into a high-octane assembly where students eagerly guessed the ‘mystery reader’ (disguised as either a giant rooster or squirrel), adding a generous dose of fun to the celebrations. Back by popular demand, Mr Gabbitas brought his unique ‘x-factor’ to the show, dusting off his pumpkin costume and injecting pure effervescence into the mix!
The day concluded with two thrilling Reading Competition finals. The standard was truly extraordinary, showcasing the talent and dedication of our students. Congratulations to Hector (winner) and Olivia (runner up) for their superb performances in our Years 3 & 4 final, and to Erisha (winner) and Mimi and Skye (joint runners up) in our Years 5 & 6 final. Well done to all our finalists for reminding us of the joy of a cracking story!
A huge thank you to all the staff, parents and children who made Book Week such a special event. Your enthusiasm and creativity brought stories to life in the most magical way!
