Poetry & Poppies | West End in Schools

Years 4 to 6 enjoyed a Poetry & Poppies workshop with West End in Schools on Tuesday. Working as an ensemble, each year group participated in discussions around remembrance, the war effort, propaganda and the millions of lives that were lost. They used still images, music, movement, solo and choral speaking, levels and various gestures to create a performance which they shared at the end of the day.

It was a moving and poignant production and the children thoroughly enjoyed working on it together while showing their understanding of the stimulus with due awareness and reverence. Huge thanks to West End in Schools for providing this engaging and thought provoking workshop!
