5AR enjoyed a ‘Quotation Quest’ lesson where they used their class reader, Sky Song, to find quotes that link to one of the main characters Flint. This led to the children writing PEE chains (Point . Evidence . Explain) on what they have learnt about Flint in the chapter.

6AJ created an outline of Nate, the protagonist in their class book The Final Year. The children had to find key points about Nate and stick them around his outline. Using these, the children practiced writing PEE chains regarding what we know about Nate. This will follow on to inferential points about Nate which will go inside his outline. The children enjoyed the visual and kinaesthetic nature of the lesson and sharing what they found!

Meanwhile 8AB have been exploring, adapting and applying Dickensian language techniques in their own imaginative writing.
