Year 5 | Classics Day

Year 5 enjoyed a morning of Classics fun on Tuesday: gladiators, matrons, goddesses, slaves and citizens explored a carousel of activities including mosaic-making, a discovery hunt on Roman Britain, and a Pompeii-themed escape room activity where they raced against the clock to avoid being caught in the devastating eruption of Mount Vesuvius, before enacting a bustling Roman street scene in front of Mr Hynes’ green screen! Many thanks to Mr Bastide, Miss Jones, Miss Gazard and Mr Gabbitas for their sterling contributions to the morning! We wish Year 5 many years of enthusiastic discovery of the ancient world through their Latin (and Greek!) studies at Cheam and beyond!
