Year 8 have been looking at the reactivity of metals in chemistry. The pupils chose different combinations of metals and tried to see if the different metal pairs had an impact on the voltage produced. The magnesium and copper pairing produce the highest voltage. They have also been testing to see which metals react most vigorously with acids. When the metals fizzed they tested for hydrogen with a lit splint which produced some magnificent squeaky pops!!
