Year 7 | Southampton City Art Gallery

Year 7 went on an exciting outing to Southampton City Art Gallery on Monday. They enjoyed a fascinating guided tour and learned about an ancient altarpiece, a Gainsborough portrait, a Surrealist work by Roland Penrose and a contemporary painting by Chris Offili. The children really enjoyed a mixed media monoprint workshop too. They finished off the visit with an opportunity to sketch different portraits from the collection. All this was great inspiration for our portraits project.
