South Central England Hockey Finalists | Cheam School

Last week, the U13 girls travelled to Reading to fight for Berkshire against county champions from Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, and Hampshire for a chance to represent South Central at the National Finals in Nottingham during the summer term. Scholarships, exams, and the national netball finals have kept this bunch very busy in recent weeks. But the girls stepped onto the astro and exceeded expectations throughout the day, propelling them into the cup knockout phases and all the way to the final, where they faced a formidable King Edwards School team representing Hampshire. Cheam broke the deadlock and won the competition in the closing minute of play in a nail-biting final. This group of children should be extremely proud of what they have accomplished during the season, which will culminate in May with the Nationals, where they will fight against representatives from ten English regions.
