Year 6 travelled to Oxford to visit the Natural History and Pitt River’s museums in a combined Art and Science trip. They focused on evolution, adaptation and natural selection while studying the changes organisms undergo over generations. The new installation “Meat the future” about the impact of eating meat certainly made some of them consider the effect of farming and our carnivorous culture on climate change and global sustainability. In line with this term’s Art focus on Masks, the children sketched and studied tribal masks from various locations across the world and will take inspiration back to the art room as they create their own masks.
