Remembrance Service | Cheam School

On the 11th November the whole school gathered together in the sunshine for a very moving Remembrance service. The courtyard rang out with the voices of the Pre-Prep children who sang some poignant hymns and we had prayers and poems from several children in years 3, 4, 5 and 6. Beautiful poppy sculptures were planted in the round flowerbed in the centre of the courtyard at the feet of the soldier figure. This was followed by a wonderful rendition of The Last Post from our Year 7 trumpeters Lucas, Benji and Henry. The children all stood in remarkable silence and Mr Wright rounded off the service with a stirring reading of They Shall Not Grow Old.
