Division Cross-Country | Cheam School

Despite the recent floods and seemingly endless wet weather, the sun was shining at Cheam for the 2020 Division Cross Country Competition. It was still cold, but thankfully firm(ish) underfoot, for the 280 runners who braved the challenge of the various Cheam courses, all in pursuit of earning points for the respective Divisions. As ever, the junior, intermediate and senior races were completed and fought out with much passion and dogged determination, with all pupils clearly trying their best.Aldrich won the Junior competition with Felix B (Aldrich) in Year 4 crowned the individual winner. James H (Tabor) from Year 6 won the Intermediate race and William C (Gilpin), a Year 7 pupil, won the Senior race, but both of these races were eventually won by Tabor. All runners contributed to the overall scoring system and they are to be congratulated on their efforts and giving their all for their Division. Overall, with all runners counting to the end result, Tabor have managed to snatch the Division Cross Country trophy away from Gilpin, who have been proud owners for some years. A changing of the guard… how long will it last!?
