Football Tour to Manchester | Cheam School

Over the first four days of half term, 15 Year 8s headed up to Manchester for Cheam’s first football tour for a few years. It was an enjoyable trip with the pupils getting a lot of football with a combination of two hard fought fixtures (sadly a third fixture had to be cancelled), as well as spending a day playing and being coached by the academy staff of Manchester City FC.  The coaching sessions were held at The City Football Academy, in the shadows of The Etihad Stadium, and not only were the facilities first class, the whole day proved to be very special and the boys had a great experience.Aside from playing lots of football, the boys enjoyed attending Wigan v Nottingham Forest at the DW Stadium, a behind the scenes tour of The Etihad, and spent a morning at the National Football Museum. It was a great trip with the pupils showing themselves to be excellent ambassadors for the school and it was particularly special to have a wide range of boys from the 1st XI through to the 5th team which proved a great way to start the half term break.
